Karjee’s sculptural practice in figuration is drawn from observations. Karjee believes that the human body is a container of memories, feelings and aspirations. As an artist, he looks for the self in others while locating others in spaces that are simultaneously personal and social. Born from a keen awareness within the artist, Karjee’s works try to emulate a creative visual narrative around the experience of growing up in suburban Kolkata. His practice draws on the imagery of a child, emphasising the importance of childhood in our lives
